The various Personal Displacement Devices (PDUs) are now experiencing significant growth, reflecting the explosion in the micro-mobility market. Electric scooters largely dominate this sector, at 89%, with sales up 34%, and the electric scooter even tends to exceed its mechanical sister (which represented 52% in 2020 compared to 63% in 2019). Electric Assistance Bikes (EVAs) are not yet in place, with a growth of 29%. Today, more than 2 million French use an electric scooter.
EDPs are therefore a major issue for the territories, which must find them a place and meet the new needs of users, in terms of storage and charging.
